Yeet Aerospace are an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft startup company founded by CEO Alasdair Aegerter. They have pioneered a new eVTOL aircraft called the ‘plane-o-copter’. This innovative solution has the market distinctions of being easy to use, inexpensive to produce, and superior to typical drone technology.
The company’s target audience was the marine surveillance market. They aimed to sell the ‘plane-o-copter’ as a viable alternative to other products that were either more expensive or had lower performance levels. However, their ambitious plans required significant investment. They needed materials that would elevate them above other startup funding proposals.
Creating effective pitch materials for aerospace startups can be very challenging. Business funding has a cut-throat approach that can hinder engineering and technology companies. Grants are highly competitive due to demand and scarcity. They require a thorough review of numbers and a comprehensive demonstration of mission goals.
We were asked to create an engineering company presentation and project proposal document to help Yeet Aerospace secure the necessary funding. We were set extremely tight deadlines to meet the cut-off for grant applications. We needed to efficiently connect with target audiences and convey the company’s message through clear and compelling content.
Engineering presentations must cover a lot of information to secure startup funding proposals. Yeet Aerospace had already invested significant time and resources into this project. This meant we had substantial raw content to work with for the materials. We started with the PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) and a deck of 20+ slides.
The PPT started with a brief introduction to the ‘plane-o-copter’ and then delved into Yeet’s target market of marine surveillance. We focused on the pain points tackled by this industry and the wider-reaching benefits of investing in the sector. We also highlighted the problems associated with using current technology in this field.
The pitch deck detailed the ‘plane-o-copter’ as a viable solution. We explained the benefits of using Yeet Aerospace’s product over other options and backed this up with relevant case studies. We also included information about the company, team, and sponsors. Overall, this created a powerful narrative.
The project proposal document did not require the same level of depth as the PPT but needed to be efficient in showing goals and timelines. We also included a register for business and technical risks along with mitigations. We used colours to improve visibility and images to illustrate the testing methodology.
We received excellent feedback on both pieces of material. Yeet Aerospace were successful in their grant applications and pitch meetings. They secured 100% of the necessary funding to take the ‘plane-o-copter’ project to the next level.
Engineering company presentations are an integral part of startup funding proposals. We were thrilled to play such an important role in Yeet Aerospace’s success. Our PPT converted their information into a story that truly connected with target audiences and conveyed the message in a clear and compelling way.
We used innovative slide designs to highlight problems tackled by marine surveillance, such as illegal fishing, drug smuggling, and human trafficking. We also illustrated issues with current technology, including high costs and low performance. This provided the perfect foundation to promote the “plane-o-copter” as a simple, user-friendly, affordable, and high performing solution.
We also used this platform to look at the bigger picture for Yeet Aerospace and highlight other potential future markets. These included marine eco-tourism, search and rescue, and wildlife filming. Our PPT and project proposal document designs combined to create a strong pitch dynamic for startup funding proposals.
